Vice President,
Gary is the
newest member of
Managed Markets Resources and brings a depth of experience to
the team.
Gary has an in-depth understanding
of managed markets including new guidelines and regulations. He understands pricing and
contracting strategies and has a working relationship with national
Medical and Pharmacy Directors in Managed Care
Organizations.
Gary has 20+ years of
experience in pharmaceutical sales, marketing, advertising, business
development, medical education, public relations and managed
care.
Gary has
managed markets experience on multiple distinct levels: Managed
Markets Marketing, Managed Markets Sales, Managed Markets Market
Development, and Managed Markets Agency of Record.
As Director of Marketing
he was responsible for developing and implementing managed markets
business strategies and tactical solutions to attain formulary
acceptance and reimbursement status for assigned brands in
cardiovascular, allergy, respiratory and oncology including pull
through programs for Pharma sales forces including health and
wellness tools for managed markets to secure membership
retention.
As Regional Director,
Northeast he was responsible for seven states and over $400 million
book of business with a sales staff of 11 direct reports.
Gary achieved
formulary status for all assigned brands and led the region in
market share growth from 5th worst nationally to #3 out
of 150 districts.
Priority accounts included Medco, Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare,
BCBS Massachusetts, Cigna, and HIP Greater NY.
As Director of Market
Development he was responsible for building sales of the
corporation's flagship product by building new value propositions
for managed market customers including the Employer Payor
sector. These value
propositions helped the managed care account team compete on a basis
other than price to secure brand access and reimbursement. He led a major guidelines
initiative resulting in redefining a major therapeutic category for
health care providers with a coalition of 24 medical associations
under the imprimatur of NIH.
As VP, Management
Supervisor he led medical ad agency initiatives for assigned brands
as AOR including the launch of a Women's Health initiative for
osteopenia/osteoporosis.
Mr. Gemian received his
Bachelor of Science in Biology from
Fairleigh
Dickinson
University. He has participated in
various courses at the Kellogg School of Management,
Northwestern
University.
